| Re: can anyone tell me what this is Yessir. I can tell you exactly what that is. It is a type of macroalgae called neomeris annulata; aka fussy tipped algae and caterpillar worm algae. It, like most macroalgae, can benefit your tank. If you don't mind what it looks like, leave it in for a while. I have some as well. Here is an article:GreenAlg
