Default film on water

there is a thin, clearish film on the top of my water. No additives or anything . did my 10% pwc on sunday. Tests were good. any one have a clue. I've seen this film on parts of rivers. i did add a fake plant that i washed first. it had a bit of algae on the top. it's went from the darkest green to orange like yellow? could that be it. I took out the air stone. could it be because the is not enough current or surface agit. the film is a white like clear. no other colors in it. ty

I'm guessing you could use more flow/turbulence at the surface to break that film up. I believe it is caused by gasses.

I noticed the same film on my tank last week. I directed a power head to the flow and it cleared up almost instantly. I think you're right...it all has to do with water surface agitation and gasses.

I had the same problem with my tank as well, I just put a surface protein skimmer on and took care of that for good...
