| I have not seen him completely out of the rock. It looks like he has tucked his head part under the rock that the star polyps are on. He looks like a bright orange earthworm with very stubby legs on the bottom. Never noticed him before the transfer. That polyp is bright green in the center with brown outter. It is about the size of a US Quarter in diameter fully open. Kind of cool but not sure why there is only one being that size.

| If you dont know what it is your best bet is removing it. If it is a work though that is easier said than done, you are probably going to have to remove the rock to get to a worm. |

| When i was cleaning out the bin that my rock had been sitting in for a few weeks(i am in the process of setting up my tank) there was this weird orange worm that was dead at the bottom and was about a foot long, it was really really icky. I am so happy he didnt make it into my tank. |

| isnt the usual consensus on ugly nasty worms usually some type of bristle worm? at least it adds some color to your tank right? is it really bothering anything, if it isnt, i would keep it...its just another colorful item for people to look at in the tank and ask questions about. if you see more of them then i would start to worry. the green thing looks like a button polyp. although it could be a zoa..either way its a good find..hope it multiplies for ya.

| As far as the orange spot that you pointed out in your diagram of my photo, that was just a part of his body that looped back a bit. It appears that his body came out of the lower hole in the rock and his head was tucked under the argonite base that the Green Star Polyps are growing on (it is just sitting on that piece of LR.) Well he has had to be in that rock for well over a year and so far has not done any damage so I guess for now he is not a threat. This just goes to prove that no matter how long you have your reef that you will never truely run out of the possibility of new discoveries. Thanks for all of your relies and I will keep an eye out for him for a few days. I have not seen him since last night. I just had never seen a brissle worm that bright orange. He is the same bright orange color of some sponge that has been growing on the bottom of anothe piece of rock I have. So for now "He Lives!" ![]() Greg
