Identification What in the heck is growing on my glass, corals, etc. Not sure what it is? Post here and we'll see if we can figure it out!

Icon14 This showed up this morning, I have 2 of them.

I just noticed these this morning, the tank is just less than 2 weeks old. I used cured LR and LS. This thing has about 10-12 clear tentacles and some much smaller ones around the base, it is coming out of a hole on the back side of my LR.



Its in the center of the picture.

I agree. Looks like an aiptasia anemone. I had a couple on my rock as well. Some Joe's Juice will put an end to them very quickly!

its aptasia. i wouldnt kill it until it gets outta hand, thats even if it does get outta hand. i have only 2 in my 29gallon and have no problem whatsoever. i think it adds a little character to a tank...just another one of those hitchhikers that commonly arrive in a tank. just enjoy it.

One or two is nothing to be concerned about...but you want to be really careful that they do not spread. They can sting your fish too if they get too close. As we speak I have two in my tank that I have been meaning to take care of.

i had it EVERYWHERE in my 150 tall seriously there was maybe three feet in my tank that didnt have it i got a copperband butterfly and it was gone in about a month. but one or two shouldnt hurt anything

Peppermint shrimp.

two or three if you have a few aps, and no shrimp eating critters.
