Default Hello !

Hi All,

I'm new to saltwater and reefs, but have experience in FW. Now beginning my first SW tank and still doing plenty of research before I stock or even fill the tank with water.

Equipment bought so far or thinking of:

Tank: 29G or 37G Tank (Bc tank has to fit on a 30x12 stand)

Filter: Xp3

PH: MaxiJet 1200 / Hydor Koralia 2

Light: PC Current USA Satellite 65W (used from old tanks - works great)

Planning on : 30 # LS 40# LR but still learning about reefs.

Welcome to RB! Have you decided if your tank is going to be a FOWLR or Reef tank yet? If reef tank, what type(s) of corals do you plan on housing. Any of the equipment used in Reef tanks will work good in a FOWLR, but not necessarily the other way around. Also, out of the equipment listed, what do you already own. There may be better options than some of the items listed if you don't already own them, depending on the type of tank.

I've decided on starting a Reef Tank, probably soft corals. The tank will be a 37G Tank (30x12x22). Of the equipment listed above, I already have a new XP3 Filter, Current USA 65W PC light, and the two powerheads [MaxiJet 1200 and Hydor Koralia 2].

Would there be any equipment I should look into to begin a reef tank? I'm still gathering equipment and doing lots of research before I actually fill the tank with anything.
