Default newbee

Hi all,

i just joined and wanted to say hi from the deep woods of Maine.

I do have a question: Has anyone ever had all there Corals close up? Toadstool Coral, Leather Coral, Dented Brain Coral, Zoanthid, have closed up. My tank is having problems. I have a white string like dust that hangs on the glass and corals. Any help would be great. My tank was doing fine and all of a sudden this has happened.
55 gal calcium 480, DKH 8, KH143.2 Phosphate 0, Nitrate 0. Salinity 1.023.
Fish with live rock. Sand bed 4-5 inches coarse bottom and 2 inches of fine top.

Thank you,
Bill

Welcome to the reef Bill, glad to have you join us!

Along with Doug's question, when was the last time you swapped out your MH/T5/PC bulbs?

Welcome to RB Bill. Changing you bulbs could have caused more light intensity getting to your corals, which can cause them to close up or something may have got into your tank's water. My guess would be that they are still adjusting to your new bulbs. How old and what type (brand, wattage, and spectrum) of bulbs were the old ones and what type are the new ones?
