how can i make it look like more rock than there actually is, what i mean is how do i build like a terrace or something like underlayer to put rock on, i also have a gobie and shrimp buddy that digs BIG holes under the rock then it tumbles, would shattered clay pots be ok to build base on sand or not, also i was thinking about building a few terrace's up to lay rock on, idea's or answers PLEASE!!!: thanx mark

I have read that pvc works well for supports to hold rock up. A small platform that the rock won't fall through. Helps reduce dead spots in your water flow as well.

Usually what you want to do is lie your rock directly on top of the tank (or some sort of solid barrier, ie eggcrate or pond liner) and then fill your sand around the rock.This keeps sand diggers from going underneath the rock.

I agree with the eggcrate, just try to imagine hoe you want it to look. I know that nobody is satisfied with the first time they arrange there live rock, you will change it around until it looks the way you want it...........(be patient)
