Default just sayin hi

hi everyone I'm new here. I've been keeping freshwater tanks for about 12 years, and I have allways been intrested in saltwater, but thought my tank was too small- 29 wide. Any way I have a genral question if any one can help. I think I accidanty fried my fish. Is there anything I can do to safley bring the temp down? This has never happened to me before I don't know if my heater malfunctiond of my 2 year old got to it, but if any one can help I welcome your advice

So easy to blame a 2 yr old...
I am also from Illinois, even though it says El Paso above. It is always good to see locals online. Welcome!
What do you have for livestock...or what did you have?

hi..I'm from bloomington. I had a pink convict, a black convict, 2 green terrors and a channell cat, now I have just the black left. I know theese are freshwater, but I figures I'd ask anyway, this seemed to be the best place I could find on teh web to get good advice! I put some cold water in the tank to try to regulate the temp, and now he's just sitting at the bottom...well hes moving a bit, I hop he lives!

What is your current temp?
I went to Illinois State for almost 2 years.
Does Bloomington still have The Smiling Moose restaurant?

no I think the moose shut dowm, but I do rember it from a while back. I think the thermometer got fried too - its saying the temp is still about 98 degrees, but the water feels more like 78 or so- where I nomally keep it. I'm happy to say my convict seems to have survived the carnage, but there is still the mystery of the missing pink ones body! So I'm off to pet co to get a new heater and thermometer

That is too bad, it was one of the few places in Illinois that served chimichangas. Would be the only reason I would consider visiting in that area again. I was never a big fan of the winds during the winter time or how the sirens would go off practically everytime a thunderstorm rolled in!
