Hello and welcome....
First off, the only stupid question is the one that you don't ask!!

PLEASE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ask questions here before you make a mistake. I learned the hard way. I bought my tank and trusted the idiots at the store. They sold me crushed coral and other crap i didn't need. So a coupl of weeks into the startup i had to start all over again.

I learned allot from the members here and search the forum before i do anything ...

Welcome.
The sick sad thing is that it is painful and expensive AND enjoyable. If you take your time-don't rush your tank, and do careful research on your equipment it should not be as expensive...and maybe even more enjoyable.

I have to agree with everyone else, this is an expensive and addicting habit! But very worth it. Welcome to RB
