Default Upgrading Tank

Hey all,

I recently decommissioned my 95 fish only saltwater tank due to getting new flooring and will soon upgrade to a larger (120-150 gal) tank. I'm looking for any helpful hints on how to get closer to wholesale pricing on a new tank, stand, canopy, and filtration system vs paying two separate middlemen (distributor + retailer) who do nothing but keep the items in their store for a day or two.

Also, my biggest pet peave of my old fish only tank was the very quick buildup of brown algea that accumulated shortly after (~ 1 week) after water changes. Although I don't want a full-blown "reef" tank, would the addition of live rock as a major component cut-down on this quick buildup? What kind of lighting would be necessary to support live rock?

Thanks a bunch, I plan on being thourough in my research of all aspects before dropping another $5k on a tank setup, so I'm sure I'll have more questions soon.

B

Default The more watts the better

They recomend at least 4 watts per gallon depending on the depth of the tank I am running 6.6 watts per gallon on a 75 gallon 2 MH 175W and 2 VHO Antinic & White
