Hello everyone. I have had freshwater tanks for 20 years. About six months ago I started a 125 gallon salt tank. fowlr and a few inverts. I think I have ich or velvet. White spots so tiny they look like a speck of dust. Have been treating with no more sick fish. All advice welcome.

If my wife was home I would. She is a lot more familiar with computers than i am. I know though you won't be able to see it in a picture. Spots on fins are so small you can only see them when fish turns correct way and light hits it correctly. Only fish I still see it on is copperband butterfly. He eats great and does not scratch.

Velvet is bad. I've seen it on my late clownfish. When they had it, it looked a lot like someone sifted ground mustard on their backs.

I would google copperband butterflyfish disease treatment. And then the same with ich and velvet. Wet Web Media has some good stuff and will try to encourage the least potent medication. But you will need a QT.

What else in in the tank?

Sounds like fungus. Mine had it. LFS saidto wipe it off and then put Iodine on a q-tip and wipe off the fins. Sounds good but the Copperband Butterfly didnt understand it when I was telling him what I was going to do. So I grabbed 2 big nets scooped him out and into QT. Treated ten days with Maracyn. Cured his popeye also. To end this happy story about 2 months after putting him back into the DT MY CARPET ANEMONE ATE HIM!!! That fish was 4" LONG!!!

Long Live The Carpet!!!!
