Skimmer is a must. buy one a little over rated for your tank just incase you upgrade save some $$$$

Lighting
live sand=LS
live sand=LR

is your sump a fuge where you can house some substrate (sand) and LR with some cheato algea. with a light over it.

That's a pretty intimidating picture for anybody first looking into sumps--but a very impressive set-up. Don;t worry Olivio, It can be started a lot simpler!

Good luck!

The sump itself is alright, it's all the equipment feeding into it that looks intimidating. What kind of a skimmer is that?

And BTW, nice setup! Nice and clean! What size sump is it? I just installed a 20 gallon long under my 90.

Starting with the skimmer is best.

Are you going for a reef tank or fish tank?

If you do a reef tank you may want to consider a refugium. There are many posts about refugiums in the forums.

Live rock and sand too. Need to think about lighting, heat, extra pumps, test kits....

Welcome to the hobby

bnhaus is right! Determine what skimmer you want to run (the answer usually depends on how much money you are willing to spend) and then consider building your sump around it. Different skimmers have different requirements. For example optimum water level if it is in-sump. A 29 gallon will give you enough room to customize as you wish.
