i just started a 55 gal saltwater tank. i've had freshwater for about 15 years but wanted something brighter and better. i spent about $1100 in all the "stuff". i bought what was told to me was the best light they carry. i believe it is a coralife. it is 260 watts i think. i then went with 40 lbs of live rock, 60 lbs of the live sand/water mixture. they also gave me some stuff to pour in to make it cycle faster i cant remember what that is called. i also have been adding 5mL of purple up i guess it makes the stuff on the live rock grow better? i also put in some kind of blower that circulates the water. hope it works ok.

Dont dose anymore purple up unless you can test for calcium, you dont wanna overload on that stuff
