Icon13 Injured Serpent Sea Star

woke up this morning to find my Tiger stripped serpent missing the last inch or so of all it's legs!!!
Yesterday he was fine, but unusually moving around the tank during the day. A cream angel was picking at him as he moved about the tank, but legs were intact.
Do the serpents usually "grow" new legs once they are severed like that ??

They can grow them back with excellant water quality and if no one is harassing them. The first thing I would look at is my water quality, see if all the parameters are in balance.

It died. There was a tear in the central disk & it kinda just sloughed off the skin. The fish were probably picking at it
