Default Horseshoe Crabs

I recently saw some horseshoe crabs in a fish store and was very surprised. Anybody know anything about keeping these?

Yup....they dont live too long in the home aquarium I have found. Some get fairly large, but other species will only get a few inches in the tank. You need be careul if you have an anemone, because the crab will swim upside down and sometimes land within the tenticles reach and you can pretty much say goodbye to the crab. They need a fine sand bed that is at least 2-3" deep because they LOVE to burrow in the sand. Besides that they are pretty easy to care for, drop some extra meaty food for them to eat every once in a while and they will be happy.

Thanks, I don't think I will be getting one since I have 2 anemones then!

i caught a small one last year, and have had it since then and its doing great. Does an excellent job of keeping the sand stirred up. Sometimes i wont see him for over a month, but then he will just show up.

Great for removing worms from the tank and any other uneaten bits of food, though they spend most of the time under the sand, so they are kind of boring. I see mine once a month or so.
