Default Please Need Help!!

I woke up turned on my light and my red star was half way chewed up
what could of done it? I just purchased him yesterday, and the only other things I know of being in my tank are hermit crabs, 1 lawnmower blenny, and 1 striped damsel. The only thing I can think of is I purchased new live rock yesterday too and I dont know what might have been hiding. What could have done it? Please forward all reply to my email address so they go straight to my phone *link removed*, Thank you so much

the first star fish i bought i acclamated to fast and it just melted away. star fish have a hard time adjusting to new water perameters, especially salinaty and ph. how did you acclimate this one.

i bought a blue and an orange starfish and they both just died and melted away. i never even saw how it happened. they were both in perfect looking condition.

get this...the 1st starfish i ever got was this tiny lil greenish looking one that had 2 legs missing so i got it cheap. i dropped it in and it its still alive and that was months ago. it even grew back its arms and its always moving around the tank. tough lil sucker is all i have to say.

i should of known my orange one would die..i bought it...went back to the same store like 2 days later and all the orange starfish in the same tank i got mine from were either dead or dying. was like a bad omen.

i have had the green brittle starfish it is very hardy and grew quite big.i also had a purple star and it did good for about 1 month and then decayed in a few days.i had a large blue linkia and an orange and none lasted very long due to decay.all water parameters were good and no problems with any of the other fish or corals.it may be nutrition or lack thereof that is all i can think of.they are difficult to care for but very nice to watch.

you need to drip acclimate them. It takes many hours to do so.

i drip acclimated for about two hours and watched carefully.i would'nt buy something on a whim without doing at least a little research.i even tried to feed them individually, but everything i tried was not good enough.i will stick to corals i can't stand when anything dies on me so i do a lot more research and stay away from more difficult species.
