2 scooter bleemies, a tang, a rabbit fish, coral beauty angel, and a tomato clown,, since i posted last, one has appeared, comes out when lights dim or feeding, and looks like it has molted a exoskelaton, but hasn't developed a cleaning relationship with any of the fish...
who could have ate it?

I also had the same problem but, he did come out after he shed his skin. Mine does not clean any of my fish either? I am still new, but I do know that they hide when they are molting.

That is cool, still waiting for mine to do that. Mine has started to go by my corals a lot. Now I need to know if that is ok.

i don't know, might be the fish who are not attracted ,,,, the tang, foxface and tomato clown have never presented themselves to the shrimp to be cleaned,,, the shrimp sets up an area or station,, then invites or tries to touch them as they swim by,,,, only the coral beauty angel fish seeks out the shrimp and then allows the shrimp to clean,,,, i've seen it not only clean the body but also open the gills and mouth area and clean them.....

I love my cleaner shrimp. He has such a personality; when he/she notices me, I get followed around the tank, they just wait for attention and of course a tasty morsel

It really seems to depend more on the fish than the shrimp. Mine was in the tank a few days when my halfback started making routine stops to get spruced up...later my purple queen anthias got really into being cleaned up as well. But my blennies and my gobies never seem to be interested. My cleaner is OCD when no fish come by he runs around cleaning off the shells of the little crabs and snails. Poor snails can't get away fast enough but they dont seem to mind. And my cleaner hangs around all my corals and never seems to have any problems. I will say this...in one of my tanks I have a fire shrimp...also supposed to do some cleaning...doesnt happen and whenever I have put another shrimp in there of any type...my psycho fireshrimp kills it somehow within about 24 hours and delivers it to the front of the my tank...like a cat does when it kills a mouse. Like he wants to show me what a good job he did beating out the competition. We used to call him Gumbo....now we call him Manson!
