It is possible to get a 6 legged starfish. I don't think you will have to worry about it.

I am guessing that a 6 legged CC looks a lot like a 5 legged CC, just with an extra appendage. If you have an audience that wants to see pics, I'd say sell tickets. Maybe get a penny press...

Hi
I'm a new member, and happened to notice you talking about 6 legged starfish. Which is funny, because my daughters and I were at Scusset Beach down on Cape Cod, MA this past weekend (a true Cape style beach, highly recommend it!) and when we arrived, there were literally hundreds of starfish in the water. My daughter happened to find a 6 legged starfish, all legs perfectly uniform with no evidence of past trama. It was about 3 inch in diameter, usual common tan color with pink spot. I told her to put it back (along with the 30 others she had caught in 5 minutes). But it was something to see!

I found a 6-legged starfish a couple of weeks ago at Tybee Island, GA. Although I through it back into the ocean, I wondered if I found something unique. A Google search made me see that it is not all that rare. But I saw in this forum that many wanted a picture. So, here it is! Enjoy!
