Default Whelks

How concerned should I be finding what I beleave is a whelk in my tank I think it came on a large peice of zoo rock I recently purchased. Should I be concerned I do have clams?

I'm not too sure, but I've read that these are not reef safe. They are carnivores and depending on the species can eat corals and polyps.

With a little help from the LFS I have narrowed it down to a cute little cowery The guy's at the LFS said it is reef safe.
