Default emerald crabs

I noticed one of my emerald crabs picking at my pagoda coral the other day. Is this normal? If so is there a way to prevent it. I have tried to catch the crab because the algae I bought them to control no longer exists, but I cant catch it. Any recommendations on catching it?

They make little traps like clear acrylic that you can bait them, then just pull out the trap. I guess you could make one with some pvc, but you couldn't see through it. Otherwise, you may have to do some serious rearranging to remove it. He won't leave your coral alone now that he has developed a taste for it.

I feed my two emeralds algae discs every few days to suppliment their diet now that the algae is in control. This seems to help keep them satisfied.

You need to be sure the emeralds are well fed. Throw some shrimp or imitation crab in the tank for it to eat.
