Research on how fast they grow. I'm gonna bet they don't stay 2inches for very long. You also need a lot of open sand area

If you have a functioal deep sand bed this is exactly the critter you dont want.Sand sifting critters and dsb's are not a good match.

I have one of those. My DSB varies from 4-6 inches. He is mildly entertaining. He may disappear for a couple of days and, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, he will come out of the sand and cruise the tank edges for a few hours, then bury himself again. He definitely stirs up the sand. Doesn't seem to bother anything else, and no one messes with him as well. I don't know how fast they grow, but my son told me he saw one during a field trip in Denver to the Denver Aquarium..or whatever...he said it was big as a dinner plate. Of course, my son is only 9. I asked him if it might have been a stingray; he said no. The stingray they had was like twice as big as the horseshoe crab, he said.

well the website is saying that this is a special kind of horseshoe crab that only stays at 2 inches but this may just be a ploy so im not sure from what i hear they seem kinda cool, my sand bed is only 1 inch of live sand would that be a problem?

i am rather new to crabs and invertibrates so forgive my ignorance!
