Default Cleaner shrimp

I have had two cleaner shrimp disappear over the last two years. I had both of them for a year or so and then gone (one at a time) I have a blood shrimp that spends alot of time hiding. He is still alive. I have a choc star and a purple lobster in the tank. No predatory fish. Did something eat them or did they just die. I want to get another one but don't want to throw my money out the window

I had a Yellow Tang that has killed two cleaner shrimps. I guess he had problems with getting clean on time. I know that doesn't answer your question but I would suspect that something might be eating your cleaner shrimp.

skidog,
Did you have a lot of hiding places like cave formations made out of liverock...they need to hide.
Did you give calcium supplement?

Make sure they are getting food each time you feed the tank. I think the two supplements for shrimp are calcium and iodine, right?
