Default Shrimp infestation, please help!

The 10 g I got 2 years ago has became over ridden with brime shrip. I have throughly Cleaned all eq. and gravel, and hood. It was A FW tank untill 3 days ago. I took back all my fish and am converting it to brackish as we spe. i mean as i type. I am worried about the eggs or i'd be happy to have all the free food. The shrimp survive all trys to rid them. 4 months now. The only thing i haven't wipe, rinsed and dried is the bio- filter. I know that's where they have to be. I don't want to wipe out my most established bio- filter. is there any other way to get them out? i have shaked and picked ouy the visable shrimp from it. There id no way to see the young ones with them being in the filter. i've rinsed the bio-filter in the old water as much as pos. You r my last hope to save the bacteria. Please help the tank is also got a lot of ram snail. I want those as it will be a tank for the smallest of my puffers.

I was under the assumption you can feed your reef tank brine shrimp. It may be a nice idea to just let it go and have an unlimited supply of fresh food for your fish. Eventually it would pay for itself and i am assuming it would not be that hard to get another well established bio filter. Just a thought though. Extra 10 gallon tanks are like 15 dollars if you can not find a free one.
