Default Fan Worms

I have a question about fan worms.

I bought mine about 3 weeks ago. The first week he was fine, had his feathers out most of the time. He has a double crown and it pink/purple and white. For some reason he started to move and I havent seen him fully extend his crown since. He was moving about 1/4" a day towards a coral and an area of the tank that had more water flow... then he suddenly stopped moving and just sat there. Last weekend I moved him to a different area of the tank and he still doesnt come out. Occasionally I will see about 1/4" to 1/2" of his plume out of the tube but he wont fully extend it. The tank if 3 months old, salinity is 1.023, ph is 8.1, no amonia, nitrite, or nitrate. I feed zoo plankton and invery filter feeder food 2X a week. All of my soft corals and mushrooms are doing well, any thoughts?

Thanks!

Rick

I am not sure what he is doing. Mine did the same thing. Just trying to find a comfortable spot, Possibly still isn't happy where he is. If you really aren't sure if he is still alive, You can 'squeeze' the tube VERY slightly. If you feel wiggleing around..he's still there.

Has he been coming out in the last couple days?? If not, you need to check him, he could possibly, (sorry have to say it) be rotting inside there like mine did. It's a nasty site, have the turkey baster ready. (if of course you have not seen any movement, and he doesn't reply to your "slight squeeze")
