Default Pepermint Shrinp w/ eggs

Has anyone had any luck breading these?

I bought 24 about 3 months ago and thought they were all gone. Well today i moved a rock that i didn't care for and found 2 with eggs on their bellies ??

Lots of eggs. Should i move them into a breeder or let life run it's course?

Thanks
Bob

I would say take them into a breeder...but I am not sure, I do not have experience.

I can think of some bad stuff that could potentially happen if you keep them in the display and less bad things if you move them. I do not, however, have any experience whatsoever with this matter, it is just my guess.

I would move them into a breeder. There is too much filtration and waver movement in the DT and the "babies" will get swept away. I may be wrong, but I beleive they hatch at night....could be wrong though.

They hatch at night.
Do you have live food ready? I read they need artemia. If not, you can be sure to set yourself for the next round. I have 2 peppermints and they take turns with the Babies on Board sign. I don't breed them, but their young make for a tasty tank treat! You'll want to look into a breeder tank so that you so not foul up the water in the DT.

In our nano tank, (mostly inverts) I have Pepermint's, Sexy's, and Pacific Cleaners all with egg bundles in their back legs under the tail. I do not know what happens. I think they go in to a free swimming stage, then grow into shrimp. We have just left them alone, all is good still about 4 weeks later.

I would welcome some futher info too.

Just a few I have found. And I am sure you could use these articles for the scleaner shrimp and the sexy anemone shrimps as well....
