Default Wierd thing in my tank
OKay I'm a newbie at this and wouldn't have taken you long to figure that out :-)

I have a 15 g Bio cube and it's doing well except that the hermit crab has eaten everything!!!

Today I was getting it ready to take some water to be tested plus remove the crab so I can start getting back some cool fish, I noticed that the crab had shed and whilst I was spending all my time watching the shell (sad I know) I noticed that under a rock there is this weird thing that its definitely alive, it looks as fine as hair, I noticed it about 6ms ago and assumed it was some sort of debris. It moves what I assume are tentacles across the tank by about 3 inches whilst staying under this rock, I have tried to get pictures but it is so fine you can hardly see it. It also has about 25 tentacles? from what I can see.

Could this be killing my fish??? I doubt it but you neve know, can anyone tell me what they think it could be!

Its sounds like a spagetti worm.I have them in my tank.Mine are red.Just a guess though.

If you get a pic, that would be fantastic, but since there is no pic it would be hard to tell.

I agree with adam that is may be a spaghetti worm. Does it look like this?

It's a lot finer than that has about triple the legs/tentacles I have tried to get a pic but I can't get a good focus on it. It's almost got a tiger fish like stripes and is VERY fine, like a clump of hair. I noticed that if I keep the lights of then it comes out (almost) and grows about /4 inches but as soon as I turn on the lights it kind of slowly retracts.

That pic is a basket starfish. They are very neat looking but they like the taste of fish. they are also kinda hard to care for because its hard to get a fish to swim into their "net"

It's a speghetti worm. They eat debris but not fish!
