Hi,

Got a new snail and was told it was a tiger snail. He's tan, smooth with brown spots....and he likes to burrow in the sand???? Is this normal?

Sounds like a nassarious and if it is, yes it is and that is why we buy them, to shift the sand/substrate.

CAUTION - It sounds like a Tiger Cowrie to me. They are NOT reef safe. Or at least, use caution if keeping one. Do a google search for Tiger Cowrie or Cypraea Tigris and you should be able to come up with some pics.
