Default 2 Cleaner Shrimp w/eggs

I rearranged my rock work yesterday so that I could take out my Red Coris Wrasse. Well, the shrimp had to hang close to the side since the rock was in buckets. They both have eggs. I read up on it today and they don't want me to run the filter for 30 days once I see that the eggs turn silver/grey in color.

Anyone had any success at raising the hatchlings? I don't really need anymore shrimp but it would be cool to try and save some. Do you think any would make it if I kept everything the same? I have about 100 pounds of live rock in a 55 gal, which gives them plenty of places to hide.

Thanks. Noel

Unfortunately the skunk cleaners have proven to be extremely difficult to raise in captivity. Thier larval stages can last up to 6 months with over 30 intermediate stages(molts) and the larvae are highly vulnerable to predatation.
Personally I would be happy that they are producing larval food in the tank for my inhabitants, and just enjoy the adults for what they are.

If you really wanted to try it I would assume that you would need to set up a breeder tank. Something like a 10 gallon would work, take a few pieces of your rock and set them in the tank and dont run any filters, just do water changes and see what happens. I dont know what they would eat though, you would have to look for that online. I guess they would just scavenge like their parents though.
