Last night around midnight my mom saw a small what she thought was a bead of somesort picked it up and put it in a little dish on the coffee table... only to find out today around 4pm it was actually a hermit crab that escaped from the tank and managed to jump out of the tank onto the ground and go through the entire hall way! unbalievably i picked him up and he was still alive... put him back in the tank and he is now walking around... truely and unbalieveable little hermit!

that is awsome i have a hermit that is 6 inch.
he almost maneged to get out but i got him. i also had a land hermit and i got out to walk around a little i turned away for a little and looked back and he was gone. we found him a few min. later he was hiding in his shell under the sofa. he was ok luckaly

my LFS just got this hermit crab with anemone....thing is huge, like 2/3 the size of a baseball with anemones on its shell. guy there put it into a tank and it immediately went over and started attacking a starfish so they have it in a lil plastic case by itself....cool looking but way way too big. i am waiting for someone to come up with hermit crab fights..pit 2 hermits against each other, wind up in prison like michael vick!!!
