Default 2nd BTA question

Is it normal for my BTA to be hanging out underneath a rock? I've read that they like to have their foot in the shade and their tentacles in the light, but mine is completely under a rock cave i have set up. Maybe he's getting his light from the reflection off of other corals?

It might just be finding a spot that it likes. After it sets it foot it might then extend into the light. Give it some time it'll find a spot it likes what kind of light are you running?

36 watt halogen and a 36 watt blue antic. on a square 29 gal tank

I have a bio-cube which has the lighting fixtures included in the hood. I'm currently trying to figure out if I can retro-fit oceanic's 56 watt lights in place the of the 36's.

Everything seems to be doing great with the light they have now, but I figure more light couldn't hurt.

BTA's typically like to place their foot and a portion of their column in a crevice then extend the disk out into the water. This gives them a protected spot to withdraw. They find a spot they like and stay there. If your BTA starts moving around a lot - it's unhappy and you need to check your water param's.
