Well thts wonderful i thought about trying it, but my tank is to young to think about adding a large angel tht may do damg. I had a bi color angel at one point and it killed 3 of my arcos when i lived in texas. I dont have pics, sigh but there were doing great as well. I found the more stressed out the got the worse they got, eanded up dying but i didnt know better at the time.

Great tanks Octo!!! Just wondering if you are using Kalk because your Ca reactor cant keep up or do you think you get added benefits by using the kalk reactor and the Ca reactor together?

Thanks for posting the entire set up. It took some time on your part and that is really the nuts and bolts of a nice reef tank. I can appreciate your efforts.

I have a question to both jim and or octo. In my 120 would it be worth getting a ca reactor now and let the tank and reactor boith grow toegther or get it later when i have more corals tht would require a consistent dose of ca everday?

jimw369 ... Yes I use the kalk reactor and the Ca reactor together .

I add Kalk wasser during night in amount which is needed that PH in my system do not change during night. With time it was easy for me to calculate amount. I add Kalk wasser with dosing pump which is link with Kalk reactor. A special PH controller control this pump during night. In this way it's compensate the part of water which evaporate during day. That's why my PH is stable and always between 8,2-8,3 day and night.
i have a lot of corals and sometimes I need to compensate Ca and alkalinity with supplements which I make by myself......

Regarding supplements, I can only tell you it isn’t hard but you have to know chemistry and marine water biology. Many years of learning are behind that…. Also you need good equipment for precise measuring and reliable water tests. Especially I don’t recommend to anybody to deal with microelements without enough knowledge…… I have another reason for doing this….you can’t buy these supplements in Serbia because there isn’t any. So I had to learn how to fix this problem. All I need, I make by myself. By my opinion it is the real sense of this hobby. Also there isn’t any reef shop in Serbia. All my corals came from the different sides of world.

migget By my opinion it will be good to get Ca reactor now no matter you don't have much corals, especially if you are planning to add more corals soon.

Oh, okay thanks John, I was wondering if they were out of the same tank then the tank must be stacked from sand to surface with corals, fish, and inverts.. meaning a full tank shot must be obtained lol. Thanks again .

What an amazing tank. I am struck by the color and variety in your tank, not to mention the professional quality of your pictures. I can't imagine what this must look like in person. I have one question, what brand of salt are you using in your tank? NICE work!
