been doin this awhile but love opinions from the experts. am new to computer tho guess had my head in to many tanks. deep sand bed vs bare bottom berlin. is nitrate reduction that significant? have a theory. 10 years ago you could get rock that was loaded now most i see is dead coral heads at best coralined could this be why dsb has become so popular when my previous tanks had no nitrate problems bare bottom / berlin just lots of quality rock. do like the aragonite sand but am hesitant to put 6 inches in unless substantial differences in nitrate control. mine seem to stay around 10 ppm with shallow bed and too much rock to really vaccum tank is 40 inches tall and would rather have no maintainence on bottom. whats best 4 me? dsb or back to bare bottom wiith spray bar on bottom? tank is running well now but would like thots please?
