Hey Angela! Thanks - yeah we only talk with Mike or Matias- I actually have them on speed dial on my cell, we take the long drive just for them, because we trust them. Mike, wow- if I could kidnap him and hold him hostage in my fishtank room- I'd have the best running tank ! lol I already spoke with him about the refugium the last time I was out there- they do have to order a larger size than the one they had in the shop- but that's cool- they are pretty quick with orders.
He's also got me getting a phosban reactor.- I love Aquatropics!

I think my clowns are expecting!!!
Although my husband and son think I am crazy- I still think they have laid the eggs - and after viewing the video on the home page- it seems SO familiar to what my lil guys have been doing. I just can't get a real up close shot, the eggs are small. What do you think?

ok- I am here......anyone on?
I am now on my 3rd clutch- but still trying to rear these little clown eggs.
Today we went to Aquatropics- bought a refugium and a awesome light - Current - although the plan was to cut out around the insde of the canopy, and place the light inside- that didn't work out so well- so we just decided to leave the top off all together - and are now getting the timing down.
I put some miracle mud in the refugium, along with some RED and green caulerpa.
Also hrew live copepods in the fuge too.
Ok- taking pics now to post tomorrow. Check back and let me know what you think...............nite guys!
Also brought home a baby clown tang. And sandsifter star.

I read through a lot of your fantatsic thread, though I admit I did some fast page turning...

I started a build thread on here a few weeks ago - not much response on RB. A lot of the regulars I used to see on RB don't seem to be around... have you experienced that in the months your thread has been active?

Wishing you continuing good luck with your tank and those clowns! Everything looks great!

Hi there, George- yeah , I guess the regulars have moved on to other things for the time being.
I haven't been on in abit due to work and home life- teenage son on wrestling team, etc- so.... I have to just create 'me' time and jump back on here....missed everyones threads/replies.

I am still trying with the clowns - missed the first clutch, the second ones didn't survive more than 4 days. And now we are on our third. The clowns 'refuse' to pick an easier laying spot - for me to get to that is. I have to figure out an easier way to catch the larvae when they hatch.

Anyway- I am still trying to figure out these lights- very different from what I had (4 xT12s) so, I am trying to get the timing down with the cycles.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Have a great nite!

Have you tried placing a small piece of tile under their host spot - to encourage them to lay eggs on it... Then maybe you could remove the eggs to a safe place before they pop out and become fish food...

Just a thought.

yes- have tried the tile and the terra cotta pot- but they really seem to like the large statute- and it is such a big piece- if I remove it there will be such a void in my tank. So I am going to try to net them with a very latge pond size micron filter sock.....will see if it works...

Sad to say the baby clowns did not succeed. And now it looks like they have stopped trying - other than that, things are well......just battling a small outbreak of red slime. (over feeding of pellet I assume, as I don't usually like to use the pellet foods..... will get rid of it though.)
Have a great weekend everyone!
