im between getting a royal gramma and a black cap myself. love them both though! they are less aggressive than the dottybacks am i right??

I do have someone here in gaiensville that is interested in trading coral frags, i just fragged my peanut buttercup zoas along with some mystery zoas which i am planning to frag them both again in the next few days. i also have a small frogspawn that I would like to trade or sell. I am all about growing corals up from a few polyps, its just really cool and i only have a 20 gal so they fit in my tank.
Also, if i do get the job at aquatropics, i will get a discount on livestock and i will be getting small frags to grow and frag for trade. I will keep you updated on the corals i have, im going to be in gainesville for a long time so there is no rush!

Great! As you get started let me- I would like to meet a fellow reefer! I'll come down and you can help me pick out the best frags! Mario....pics are coming! Yesterday was the service for our grandmother- so I am getting back to normal this week, I hope. (It is time consuming trying to pack away someone's entire life, their home,etc---let alone to do it with twp family members back-to-back) so bare with me! My gramma is hiding? Does anyone else's do this? Hope he's ok. Haven't seen him today at all. Baby clam is doing well. Xenia: ? looks like something walked over a small portion of the rock, trampling on it. I moved it to a different location. We'll see what happens.

Also here are a few real quick. going to Gainesville tomorrow to get something in way of coral. Hopefully they will have some of what is on my list!

Can anyone tell me what they think my anenome is?
Store says bubble tip - but it is really peach in color, and rarely extends its arms- very very rarely shows a bulb! More often leaves its top 'open and flat' like a big flat umbrealla. IS it a bubble tip?

By the way- the purple blotchy wall you see is the back of my tank after blennie 'kissed' it to death!! He is always on that wall!
And --- anenome goers: mine has moved from the right side of the tank all over until it is now lodged itself on the left side on glass/rock. He 'expels' regularly- almost every other day- normal?

Basically 'binge and purge' - he eats then throws it up in a string of white or clear 'mucous'

WHAT?!? What are you talking abut Mario? Are you trying to give me a heart attack! AAARRGGHH!! I am not dealing with any more dyeing of 'anything' for a long while (lol) - no the anenomes have the same opening for a mouth and 'waste'. so what goes in does come out, the same opening. - Ok- today I brought home a hammerhead corsal (7 blooms), a sebae, a condy, a hippo tang, 2 mexican turbos (to eat at the red slime)

Sorry, Noel- will get one in this afternoon- trying to get the sebae to 'STAY PUT' but he keeps catching a current and........WHOOSH! He's rolling. We tried putting him inbetween rocks, per the pet store. Didn't work, We then tried putting him in a pvc tube large enough for his foot, then covered the outside with a mound of sand. Like 'planting' him in the sand-per the fish store again- they have really good ideas!-but that worked until this morning found him on the other side of the tank. My condy is GREAT. How does one get a sebae to stay put?

Just takes time for them to find a good foothold. Not much you can do. It might help to turn all the current off for an hour or so and put the sabae on the rockwork.

Sorry- can't seem to get a good clear pic of my hammerhead/xenia-but they are pretty!

AND!!!!!!! I moved my xenia to the back wall (because I want it to 'crawl' along the back of the tank for a LIVING background---and in the spot where it was...... I have 1 baby xenia bloom!!!!!
I'm so excited!!!! This is the first thing that has grown by itself without me putting it there!
(silly, I know-but I don't care...I'm excited over a 1/"2 bloom!!)

HAHA! Sorry bout that, meant to take it out of the way, but forgot. It's the only way I can get into my tank. And I'm 5'6" so it's not that I'm short!
Mario- thanks for the comments! Keep 'em coming! I am planning on focusing on zoanthids next trip- but want to wait awhile for the anenomes to settle in.
The hippo tang I got, at the LFS we noticed 2 small 'nicks' in the top fin, 'mike' said it is because of the bigger fish in the tank, nipping at him. I am hoping to get him 'regeneated' as I let my hubby talk me into getting him.
(I think I will go by myself next time, as hubby and son get soooo excited, we leave with a couple hundred $$ worth of stuff every time! And they are not sticking to my list!)
It's a good thing I only go every other month.
Has anyone used the melafix I've seen? Does it work? Is it safe to add to my tank?

Thank you - I will not ever add it to my tank. I will set up a QT instead. WHEW! I do not want to jeopardize anything in there! Thanks Anthony!
OH WAIT!! What about Essential Elements? I have been adding that to my tank, and noticed that when my yellow tang had a 'nibble' from the damsel, the fin grew back perfectly - is it the E.E. or is it just nature? Will E.E. work for the hippo also?

if i was you i would invest in some more flow in your tank that red slime is a good sign that your not getting enough flow and also i would try aiming your power heads and returns if different directions ever once in a while to change to flow a lil cause on a real reef the flow is always changing and is doing that i thing will help get rid of the red slime i find the more flow you have the less algae and red slime you will have, have you ever considered a wavemaker.

Thanks. I have directed the flow into that area, and the snails are actually eating it. (chestnut turban) I'll keep you posted, but more flow is always a good idea, right now I am pondering the fate of my condy, he is shriveled - again- seems to do it after 'every' feeding, whether he is directly fed or not. I may bring him back to LFS after hearing what Bob Fenner had to say about them. I didn't really want it, trying to make hubby happy- but it is my tank, and I do want corals. If the condy will sting them- he goes!

Hey girl! If we were there at the same time I wish we could've known it! Just as a fyi for future - I am about 5'6" - long blonde hair, and will be accompanied by my husband and son calling out: "Ooooh what about this, can we get this? Can we put that in your tank? How 'bout this?!" HAHA - gotta love them!
