Ok .........HELP!!!!!Those who have read my thread- know what I have gone thru to get here, as many have had similar problems/occurences. Last night: while doing some nighttime feeding, looked in the back of tank, along the top of the tank. The middle brace on the back is cracked....and does not look good! I felt sick to my stomach!!! Ok- so called our favorite 911 LFS in Gainesville. He ordered the new brace, $30! Love these guys!! And says it is a simple enough thing to just empty 50+% of the tank water, pop off the old brace and put on a new one............ "Who has done this?" Do you have a video- a how-to? The order was placed, the brace will be in Tuesday, and hopefully hubby can get to Gainesville on Wed - I am SOOOOO nervous about this! I truly do not want to have my tank come crashing down ! (just found out today the tank is actually like 10 yrs old...didn't know that.) So.......how do I do this? He will show us at the LFS, but you know when you get home you always want to double check, and a visual helps. THANKS!!!!!

| Ok- so here is the update to my week..... Sunday, found a crack in the tank brace. Ordered a replacement, will be there Tues Nope, wasn't on the truck will be here Thursday Nope wasn't there today, says supplier 'got it in' today, so will 'definitely' be there Tuesday with the next truck. ![]() I am so hoping nothing happens until then. I am afraid of taking the chance it could bow, and afraid to empty it too soon before we even have the part. The guy we like/trust says it will be there on Tuesday, I 've looked elsewhere, but can't find it. and we trust these guys, AND they have to show us how to do it, so --- it's a waiting / hold my breath game until it is fixed. Also-- to make things worse, this morning my radiator cracked! (now this is bad, I know, but my mind keeps going to my fishies....hubby can fix the car- I want my tank made better )Still cannot find a video on how to replace it, checked youtube, nothing. Went onto melevsreef- but cannot find what I am looking for. It might be right in front of my tired eyes, but it will have to wait for tomorrow: All fish are doing well, xenia are making a comeback now that I moved the chrysurus to the biocube, which he loves! I just need to find someone to go with him. Nite to all! Will check back tomorrow

Hey there Brian-YES!!! (whew!!) the trim worked great! Sorry have been away abit, lots of things going on- those who have read my thread know my husband lost his mother/grandmother several months back- we are trying to get everything finalized- and I FINALLY am relocating to a better job! Closer to home, etc YAHOO! The trim was difficult to take off at first- hubby was removing it, while I stood at the other end holding each side of the tank praying : "Please don't break, please don't break" It became more like a chant after a few minutes and haha I was told to stop or leave the room as I was driving him crazy!! Took about an hour, the old trim had SO MUCH glue around it. Sealed tight! I had almost all the water out, and the fish were curious- BUT everything and everyone is doing better! My Chrysurus is in the biocube in the bedroom- he loves his own tank! The large tank is good, everyone is happy, didn't find out the tank was that old until the trim incident, so that helps in knowing what we are looking at- moved the hammerhead up closer to the top, will have to look further back in the thread to give credit to who told me that- but it is late and can't remember the name-- sorry! xo. The xenia are doing good- even the flower pot is coming back (not sure if mentioned: the chrysurus ate the entire flowerpot, just nibbled the hell out of it! It is slowly making a good comeback- looking to get more, I like them. Pics will be this weekend! Nite to all! ![]()
