I have a 120 gallon tank that was accidentally treated with cooper at one time to kill ick. Can I use this tank to start a new reef if I wash the tank and replace the sand bed and live rocks? Has anyone been successful in doing this and can give some good pointers.

I'm surprised nobody has answered your question! I don't think it's a good idea to start a reef in a tank that has been treated with copper. Have you taken any action since you started this thread?

Yes, I have remove everything and washed it down and filled with RO water and coral pro salt mix. I have also tested water yeaterday small to no trace of copper found.

id say it is safe to run use it
id just test for copper after your next water change and you add live rock and see if it still reads 0 if it dose then you will be fine
