| Are you looking for info on how to build different components or just what components are recommended for a saltwater/reef tank? Also, what type of experience do you have? Most of the info in books are basic when it comes to setups because they don't want to say that a certain way is the best way since technology and ways of thinking changes all of the time. They will go over some popular methods that were available at the time the book was written, but they generally don't tell you which method works the best in what situations. One prime example is the needle/mesh wheel skimmers. They weren't very common a few years ago and very few books talk about them, but most people that are around any forum will agree that, because of technological advances, they are much better than most other types of skimmers. Books like to focus on proven methods that stand the test of time or livestock/setup FACTS. The best place to gain knowledge about equipment and what everyone thinks is the best is forums like this.

| I guess what im looking for ishow to build and hook up different components together, such as a calium reactor and were it would go , or any reactor etc. all the pulmming. I haev 2 30 gal tanks and booth have sump/refugiums but tht is a totally different beast formthe 210. They dont neeed as much stuff as i think the larger tank would need. So i guess i would like help with how to hook stuff but and were in the line it would be placed, or shoudl i just hire someone tht has done it for some tiem to do it for me. But then i dont have the experience of doign it myself for he next tank i build. if tht helps at all. john |

| Sorry that I can't point you to a book that would be good for you to read, but it your patient, I can try to help you. The reason why I say "patient" is because I'm not on-line 24/7 so you need to wait for me to come back on-line to respond, whereas in a book, you can always pull it out and read. For the most part, large tanks have many things that are very similar to small tanks. The water flows through the sump the same way, except you are very often able to split the water flowing through the skimmer area from the water flowing through the refugium area since you generally would have a larger sump. Regarding hooking up a calcium or phosphate reactor, ozone, UV, chiller, metering devices,etc... should it be desired or needed, there are plenty of people that have them that can tell you the best way to hook them up or adjust them. IMO, no additional piece of equipment is necessary for a 210 gal tank that isn't necessary for a 30 gal tank, but usually the additional equipment is added for convenience. With that said, because of the scale, some devices can be really nice to have, depending on your coral types and bio load.

| ok well i dont get on tht all the time either, im in the military and get on when i have a few but moostly jsut chill with the family or play WoW. anyways thanks for the help and yes i will be loking for whatever u can give me help with and im all ears. Hooking the stuff up i guess would be the hardest for me becuase i dtn know exactly were everything would go but i guess its all trail and error. I jsut dont wanna kill everything I have in my tanks now when i trans it over. I spent alot of time in both them and would hate it for things to crash but i guess me and my wife have all the tiem in the world too. Money isnt really and issue so i can jsut stat over but u know when u make something u dont wanna see it all jsut go to waste. Anyway thanks and i will be looking for more form u. Im just in the begining stages looking for stuff to set it up with, putting my fish and coral list together and researching all i can and whats the newest and maybe not the best. but still doing what i need to to get ready. john |
