Jim,

I appreciate your critisism but, believe me, I've already told myself what you just said many times already! I regret going in without fully researching the anemone first, that being said, it is what it is and I can only try my best to do what's best for the anemone, which, is giving it to someone who is more experienced than myself and has the appropriate room for it to grow and thrive.

I've already learned something from this though, anemones are not for me! At least not until I get a larger tank and can make my smaller one for anemones and clowns only! Otherwise, I'm sticking with corals, although it makes me sad to say that because you're right, they truly are amazing animals, I wish I could take care of one. (btw, I believe I did a pretty good job of taking care of it while I had it, it never looked unhappy and even though getting it out was not a pleasant experience, for both of us I know, it's on it's way to a better home and will be in the bag for less than a day, I can't do any better than that.

I value your advice and critisisms but also take with a grain of salt, this hobby is tough and no one's perfect. Like you said, learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them, right?

Going to go 'letter' the box now. (live animals, this side up, fragile...)

FANTASTIC ATTITUDE!!!! Even if the carpet doesnt make the trip it will be worth it if you learned what you just said in your post! It will save you many critters down the road!
Some one told me over a year ago when I started,"when we make a mistake, Stuff dies". He was so right.

Dinor: Ive done it too. Thats why I can give the advice I did.

I placed him away from the window now and am running a gentle airstone in the bag to get max 02 in there for the move. Man overnight is not cheap but, it'll be worth it if he makes it there alive and in Will's tank.

Jim, you're just like a Dad on this site I think, you tell us all the truth but do it in love! Thanks for your experience and honesty, Will's right, we'd never be mad at you! In the future, what anemone would you personally recommend for my 55gal when it becomes a clown/anemone tank only? Bubble tip? Sabae?... Are the false percs the best suited for a 55 gal? Just thought I'd ask while we were on the subject!

Dinor: Good read about the Anemones...Straight from the RB lirary! Great tool to use!

AS far as anyone getting mad at me good luck. When I do something stupid with my tank there is no person harder on me than me. If you would go back and look at some of my threads a long time ago I lost a clam. I had no business buying that clam. 2 inches long, knew nothing about them and STILL paid $100 from the LFS. I killed it in less than a week!I have that empty clam shell 2 feet away from me every time I sit at this computer and is a constant reminder to me when I cruise the lives stock stores for stuff for the tank. Im still mad as he$$ almost a year later about this clam thing. I was an idiot. Dam!
Good news is I have 4 clams now all doing well and we all love each other. One is 10" long!

Sounds like he's doing ok, please let me know, I'll check back in a little bit. (I was so excited to get him off the bag when i got him, that I compeletly forgot to acclimate him, and he did great in my tank! Not so funny but, seems like a tough little guy, hopefully he'll be fine.)

Hey william, as per being the orginal owner of the anenome if it really does split keep me in mind, i have a 120 gal set up alrdy, and in the process of settign up my 210. I had to get rid of it at the time b/c well we didnt want it to die and it was such a nice specimen, anyways would be great to be kept in mind if it really does split.

I really think it was going to split because of how it was acting in the tank but also I noticed as I helped the foot off the rock, the foot had spread over the rock so much that a small 'piece' of it was somewhat seperated from most of the foot... I'd almost bet money that it would split soon after being in Will's tank.

John, what do you have in your tanks?...

YAYYYYYYYYY, Praise the Lord! Thank you for that great news, I am SO happy he's doing well! Looking forward to the pic! On a side note, my three percs are now starting to investigate the little frogspawn I have... think they're already over the anemone! Thanks for letting us know!

Ive had mine nine mos. Dont know how big it is as he cant fully spread out anymore. He spends his time shrivled up in a big cave and every few weeks he comes out for a while then goes back into the cave. Crazy! When he does try and spread out hes all of 20". Im sure if I had more room hed go 20-24"....yeah, I need another tank. Mine has ate about $200 in other fish and critters so far including one of the clowns that was hosting in it.

The clowns I got for it took to it in 30 seconds. You will love to feed it and watch it close around the food. They are rated extremely aggressive. I never could understand why untill eat started eating my fish. Hahaha. So slow and deliberate...so deceptive a creature. We call it the Venus flytrap of the ocean around here. It rules the tank and everything that is currently in my tank understands where they are on the food chain.

Wow, it looks very good! I am so relieved it's healthy still! It is such a strong animal and yes, very cool! I wonder if it didn't eat my fish while there because I feed it almost everyday, little bits and small amounts of food. I also had it at the end of my tank and the rock it attatched to allowed it to bury the foot while in the hole of the rock and it could still spread open.... Just thinking out loud. I will miss this guy but he looks great and his new home looks great and his new owner will take very good care of him!

Could you maybe post another pic as he grows larger or splits? I know I wasn't the first owner of him but, I feel I am going to miss him alot!

John, I was just wondering what you had in your tanks, they all sound like neat displays! What kind of fairy wrasses do you have? I'm going to get a red head fairy wrasse here as soon as they're able to ship. (Our lfs's supplier won't ship unless all looks well with the specimens). If you have one, how do you like it?

Well, it's been a long Saturday for me, I'm turning in. Thank you SO much Will for taking in and caring for this guy, I know he'll do great! (John, when Will posts a pic of the anemone fully open, does he look bigger than when you had him? I'm guessing he grew about 2 inches in diameter...). And thank you all for your help, support and encouragement, removing and shipping this anemone is an experience I hope NEVER to do again!

I will keep everyone posted with pics. I dont think he is going to split but you never know! He is doing great planted his foot opened up. My clown are kind of picky I have had a few anemones already usually placing them in the area were the clowns are.. They will host to it but as soon as the anemone moves its like there blind they cant find him... Ha ha ha
