Default 80 mile per hour winds

live in New Baltimore, Michigan. Sunday night the storms move through with Tornado warnings, 80 mile per hour winds. We have my mother in law living out her life with us. While not wheel chair bound she does need a walker to get around, 87 years young. Before it hit had to get a neighbor to help me put her in the wheel chair to get her down to the basement and back up afterwards. WHAT A TRIP, she was a calm as could be.
I have recently had installed a backup sump pump that runs off of water pressure so if the power goes out, which it did and still is as of 9:00 am this morning, the backup is hooked up to a water line and uses the pressure from the city water to pump the sump. COOL GIZMO!!!
Had to lend the generator to friends across the street to run their sump all night so the tank was down for 12 hours. Went and go the generator back this morning to get the tank, fridge, and TV (TV for the mother in law) back up.
What a night!!!

Cannot remember the manufacture of the one I have specifically but here is a link to one that is like it. This looks like it is plastic where the body of mine is a heavy brass casting. But you get the idea.

Basepump- The backup sump pump that uses water to pump water

Good thing to know for those of us in hurricane or tornado paths. With my back ground in general construction I see a ton of things that can be used on set ups. This one is very cool!

Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

Okay lost the power Sunday 08-Jun-08, 5:30 pm. It is now 11-Jun-08 9:40 am. 40 hours no power. Have a generator and have been running the 29 bio cube sump pump, ATO, skimmer and heater. No lights. Geez I hope the power comes back on today!
