Default a thought on TOTM

First off, to the winners.... congratulations they all look amazing from what I have gotten to see.
For those who have eligable tanks...... get some pics upload them and share them.
For those of us aspiring for such an honor...... nominate, vote, and learn from them. When we feels ours are ready then make the motions to be nominated.

I myself am a long long way from even considering thinking I would have a chance. But asking questions (refer to my other thread of rants haha)seeing mature, well cared for systems can only help in hopeful bids for an admired tank like those nominated for TOTM. Other than our personal enoyment, seeing others rave or gawk at our tanks is very rewarding.

All mag pumps are quiet if they are running internal and functioning properly.

I agree that it would be nice to see more people posting tank pictures, both in TOTM threads and elsewhere.

Since this is a TOTM post, I have a question for everyone. I've been looking into and asking around about creating a Tank of the Year thread. In order to be eligible, you need to have previously won a TOTM contest. This thread would theoretically pin the best of the best tanks up against each other. What does everyone think?

I think it would be great to have all of them together. It would refresh our memories on how much work some folks put into their tanks1

How does a thread like this get turned into something from someone who has asked the same thing a hundred times?

I know TOT threads have been posted a ton and say pretty much what mine did, but the idea of TOTY would be awesome, hint hint, maybe enough of us can hit this thread to get it to happen.

On a semi-related note....for those of us NOT full mebers (myself included) go to a bookstore and look at the cost of reef books, its staggering. The first thing I do when I actually get some work to pick up around here is becoe a paid memeber, which if nothing more is a show of respect for a great site and is what allows for contest prizes.

Ive managed to save a few bucks on amazon.

I have no interest in TOTM but might be willing to try and get that tag just to enter the TOTY. Could be something to all this that might get more posting of tanks and pics from new people joining the site.

RB isn't in the habit of giving away people as prizes . Ryan would need to figure out if any prize would be justified. I think the honor of being selected as TOTY would be enough.

naa cause trust me if you would give away prizes even something as small as a bag of sand there would be about 100 more people who would join this websight which would also give you guys MORE sponsors

No prizes? Not worth it

Actually what kind of a contest is it when nothing is given for a prize?

A contest for the sake of a contest is kinda dull IMO.

Why not open the contest up to everybody? There might be some nice looking tanks that havent won TOTM.
