Well I'll admit right now that I'm a purebred Republican, but I do kind of hope to see some of the changes the Dems have promised. Good luck to them

Let me revise that....I hope to see the changes that they have set for the "first 100 hours" take place. Some of the other stuff I don't really agree with.

it's more in the philosiphy of take care of the big business and they will take care of those below them. dems used to be a working class party, but now i don't know exactly. big business dosen't take care of the ones who work because they believe we are over paid, but it is the working class that makes up 83% of america and buys the $20,000 cars the $1000 or more t.v.'s and all the little things that make up the bulk of goods. if we as the working class don't make money then only a small % afford their products. when that happens big business loses money and they lay-off. but instead of laying off a bunch of execs. making alot of money they lay-off 35,000 workers to equal what a handfull of top decision makers earn. in construction when all of this happens companies stop building or put projects on hold, houses aren't being built because people are out of work or if they are working they want to sit on their money because they are not sure about their own future. honestly the dems have had teir share of oopsies too, but historically my work has done considerablly better under them ( still trying to figure out how they thought NAFTA was a good idea). i'm actually what you would call an independant and read and learn before i vote and whoever lies to me the least or lies the best is who gets my vote no matter the party.

Reefer,
What did you expect to change?
More/less abortion rights?
More/less gay rights?
More/less embryonic stem cell research?
More/less troops home so we could have more/less terrorist attack?
More/less bickering on capitol hill?
More/less healthcare reform? etc.,etc.
Did you want change for the better or change for the worse?
What is the better? We need wisdom. Who has it?
Just wondering.
Unless we call on God to help us, our nation goes nowhere. In God We Trust. God Bless America.

unfortunatly c-c is right. not much will change. most of the "topics" that either side represent wont change because if they do then they have eliminated a platform to stand on. my wife is a rep. and i loved to tell her that since1980 to present only 8 yrs were not rep. rule and not a whole lot was done about abortion. then she would procede to remind me that j. kerry was against big buisness while his wife was ceo of one of the largest corps. in usa.

i thank god for this country and pray for his guidance but.....
he must be shaking his head at us most of the time because i really don't think we ( and i mean in general) DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHATS GOING ON!!

we can hope for change and vote after that it's out of our hands.

I was a Republican for awhile, but I have found myself not going with what they are saying. So, I became a Democrat. Now...I just don't believe anything a politician tells me, period.

I'm hoping that something good comes of the Democrats having the power in Washington, but I'm thinking more of the business as usual, will be the outcome.

Honestly, I think it's time we tell all those career politicians to go home, and don't come back. It's time for someone else to do it, since they apparently can't agree on what's for lunch, much less anything else.

I do hope that Obama gets the money together to run. I'll vote for him, since he's a new face with fresh ideas, and that, IMO, is what Washington needs more than anything else right now.

Hey I'm also in the Electricians Union (loc. 94) but I still dont think I would ever vote for a democratic, even though my union fully supports them. But overall my biggest fear is Hillary Clinton. God help us...

I do agree....working class is the bulk of our economy...but I disagree on the reps slowing down the building industry. Companies are, and always will be, created solely for the purpose of making money. It's within the definition of a corporation, so them cutting jobs and adjusting to increase their profit margin is expected. However residential dwellings slowing is more of a result of a lot of stupid people buying houses all at once than anything. We enjoyed a period of good, low interest rates and a fairly steady economy. People jumped on taking the incredibly low rates and many got sucked into the variable rate and two-part mortgages. Now these types of mortgages are biting people in the butt. They find themselves more in debt than they bargained for. I think I could go on for quite a bit, but you get the idea.

PS: If you're looking for work, you could always come here. I can't drive two blocks without new construction. Our area is lucky enough to have a steady real estate/construction market for the time being.
