Default I have a question

Would you all consider Live rock to be a very important if not the most important component of a reef aquarium?

And if so, why doesen't this website have a live rock forum?

Well I would say that LR is vital in a successful home reef. I'm not sure though if a whole forum for it is nessecary. There isnt much that can go wrong with LR. All that you really need to know is the curing process before it goes into your tank. Plan you aquascaping before sand goes in. Make sure you calcium lvls are where they should be so you will get corraline algea growth on them and the rest of your tank. Anyother problems with LR are usually few and can be thrown in the Reef discussion forum or something

I dont mean to get phlisophical on you Gieke and I honestly mean this when I say it but you are the most important component of your reef aquarium.

Its all important, mechanical fitration, biological filtration, lighting, water chemistry, food and so on. To pick any one of these as the most important component of your reef when they all affect each other is impossible. Fall short in any of the above categories and your reef will not be all that it can. IMHO

Agreed, I used the reference to make my point.
I think now that we have the ability to make our own liverock, and the various companies selling, curing, distributing, and harvesting live rock there is much to talk about.

I have many questions concerning live rock and it would be very convenient if the posts on the subject were in one place and not scattered throughout the various forums of the website.

That is the point I was making. Nothing more.
