I personally hate the Illinois law of if you get pulled over for speeding they will take your license away. How stupid!

Agreed Ryan!! Well they don't have a point system from the way I understand it. Three times in a year, you license gets yanked. In michigan, you have a point system, where if you hit.. say 12 (I don't know the right number) Your licence gets suspended.

Yeah, well...this is simple...don't speed in Illinois...or learn where not to speed in Illinois. Plain and simple, Ryan...you Texans drive like crap, I've known this well before I moved to your state. We don't take kindly to your kind over there. lol I have uttered many an expletive when seeing Texas plates back at home. Iowa, I don't know...Stace, you might have a lead foot issue.

If you had to live in other places, I am betting 9 times out of 10 you would find yourself picking Illinois. I am not discussing Blagojevich, more because we can only discuss politics so much before Brian steps in and I am just not that interested. But understand that the grass tends to look greener on the other side. All of the states do some whacked out crap, Illinois is definitely not exclusive.

I'd be walkin!!! CA has a point system 3 in a year and you get a warning letter (gotten a few of those) 4 and your license is suspended. Most speeding tickets are 1 point. I got 2 speeding tickets this year, and am doing traffic school for both. (Long boring day in front of the computer). Now - I absolutely deserved both tickets, but geez gimme a break!!!!

Here in NJ we have the point system, and for the first year of your license, you get an automatoc 2 points. Then for each ticket after that is goes anywhere from 2 points to 10 points depending on how fast over the limit you were going. trust me, with the current insurance rates for NJ the last thing you want to do is get a ticket!

Oh, and dont get caught off roading in NJ or you will get a ticket for destruction of agriculture.

Notice how Quite I have been! When it comes to politics I have lots to say! Just go back and review some 911 threads. This is the Lobby and views that are expressed in a good manner keeps the thread going. This is a democracy! A good debate is always a good thing. Hopefully things are learned.

I just noticed this morning while gassing my car up that there is a sign above the fuel pump that says - "Car wash closed from 9pm to 6am per City Ordinance". The car wash is a standard, drive through car wash. Can anyone tell me why we need to have a city ordinance that closes car washes at 9pm?

But shouldn't that be up to the owner to decide if they were doing any damage to the property and needed to be closed earlier?

You would think, is there anyone that lives close enough by that could be bothered by noise if any?

My 2 cents worth ! Every one is willing to give away some ones else's rights and scream like crazy when it comes to there own. When the truth of the matter is if you don't fight for every one you will soon be a looser. Hide and watch chocolate because it causes diabetes, RO for fish tanks because it wasts water I'm sure you can think of hundreds of others.

It could be there is a problem dumping in the car washes in that area. I have installed PC security cameras in car washes that are open 24 Hrs to catch the dumpers.

Please Jack, you have been quiet because Denise yells at you if you are on here too much! lol

On Mondays, we are not allowed to water our lawns, make RO, wash our POVs...but that is because we have drought. However, car wash dives do not have to close on Mondays.

Dumping what? And, wouldn't that be an issue for the owner to resolve and not the City?

I'm not sure that car washes really make that much noise to affect the residents that live in the area, but that was one of my initial thoughts. But, isn't noise and traffic a risk that you should factor in when you purchase a house next to commercial property?

Well For a self serve carwash in the local area there was a group of people dumping chemicals, paints and other liquid materials in the drains of the car wash. that are released into public sewage. This was a problem for the Owner and the Municipality. It could be that there needs to be full time attendant. Is it self serve bay area wash?

At any rate our beautiful country is going to hell. To buy over the counter allergy medicine They scan your Drivers License and you are unable to buy it again for 20 days. Give me a break Sudafed. Pretty soon they will be pricking your finger for a DNA Check. The USA is no longer a free Country. I'll bet they got it better in Russia. One more thing that peeves me is. They sell plastic bottles at Public Events, but Hey don't let us have the Caps. Whats the Point? This whole politically correct thing. Dont get me started. It's time for a Cival War

Wecome to America now Speak English!

Thats all I have to say about that

It is free to recycle hazardous waste in our county, so I would hope that people aren't that stupid to dump chemicals down the drain. It's not like it would cost them anything to take it elsewhere. The car wash is a self serve drive thru wash so there isn't an attendant.

I've never heard of them selling non-alcoholic beverages without giving the caps for the plastic bottles. With alcoholic beverages, they always open them up around here and keep the caps if there is one so you don't take them with you when you leave.
