Default Galaxea Coral.....HELP!!

Okay LPS people, I need a little help here. I bought a galaxea coral that looked fine in the display tank at the store. When I got home I realized that it had a bad spot on the back with a white slimey looking substance on it. I dipped it in Lugol's Solution and scrubbed the white filmy stuff off with a small brush and now it is in the QT. I know that on flower pots if you get a bad spot the coral is pretty much doomed. Does it work the same way with this coral, or can it be saved? It opened and looks great except for the little brown bare spot on the back. Is this something that could spread to the other corals in my main tank? Do you think it's just coincidence that any bad spot on a piece of coral is ALWAYS facing the back of the tank???

it might be that the LFS had it to close to another coral and it got burned by the other coral. Was it in its own tank or like a community tank of coral?

It was in a community with other corals- mostly polyps. There was a branching hammer on the other side of the tank. Does a sting from another coral leave white slime?? It almost looked like some kind of fungus- the only other time I have seen anything that looked like this was on an organ pipe coral at another lfs (I wouldn't have bought that coral). My 4 year old nephew dropped the camera in the bathtub, so I haven't been able to post any pics. Whatever was on it doesn't seem to be coming back or spreading, it's still in quarantine.

Chuck, the bad spot on the galaxea doesn't appear to be spreading and the white slime that I scraped off of it hasn't come back. Other than the one dead spot the coral looks healthy.
Blind 1993, Thanks. I have a birthday coming up and a new camera is on the list. I'll be a lot more careful about where my camera is when the 4 year old is around and hopefully this one will have a longer and more productive life than the last one.
