i am starting a softie tank and i was told that i could add b ionic 2 to the water and that was all i would need to do (not including equipmentand food ) is all that the same for lps corals or would i have to do more? i think the frog spawn coral look neat and i read that they like to eat so what would i need to feed it. what would i feed it and will soft coral eat the same thing??

Sharpie,
here is a resource that may help you. Corals: Large Polyp Stony Corals Click on each individual coral to see if they need intentional feeding, or if they are filter feeders and/or photosynthetic ... Besides feeding..., lighting, compatibility, aquascaping, and circulation are all issues that need to be addressed individually.

I know this is not exactly what everyones talking about but I've got some torch coral and hammer coral...They can be close together, right? If my understanding is right they will not really sting one another???

Frogspawn, Torch coral, and Hammer Corals are very closely related and can be kept close to each other. You can spot feed them with small chopped up shrimp or brine shrimp if you want but it isn't necessarily neccessary. It will help them grow quicker but you don't want to over do it in feeding. Maybe spot feed them once a week or once every two weeks.

I actually just have torch coral and hammer coral and they are already splitting and I've only had them a couple weeks but I've been feeding them twice a week and they love my 4 65 watt PCs and 2 250 watt MHs which keep them happy and inflated at all times when lights are on and then they go down some after the night LEDs come on...

I am attaching a very interesting long article about LPS and SPS. Read it carefully, and you may change your mind about what you put in your tank. Yes, frogspawn are indeed very beautiful corals; as well as hammers and torches. Did you know that they secrete toxins when they sense other corals? check this out:Renaming Our Corals by Chris Jury - Reefkeeping.com
