Chet, I feed my cleaner shrimp first, (brine with a turkey baster), those greedy guys  ,
then they don't bother me while I feed the LPS. If they do, I shine a bright flashlight on them and they usually scurry away, unless they are really hungry, which in that case I patiently feed them more brine until they are full... I've heard alot about the virtue of patience, in this hobby. If you have a responsable child in the family that wants to be involved, he may want to be included as the shrimp feeder person, before daddy feeds the corals. Kids get a kick out of feeling needed and valued. That comes from a mother of 4...  I had a terrible problem feeding any LPS during the daylight hours because the greedy clarki anemone fish would steal everything... now I feed at night with the lights and current off, holding a flashlight.
