| dude, that bubble coral is a hop, skip, and a jump from the graveyard. there is no way it will survive as far gone as it is in the pics you posted. once a bubble coral starts deteriorate like that, in the end..you'll have a nice piece of rock with some thin discs on it for stuff to climb on, thats it. sorry. steve |

| Steve, Thanks for the straight forward answer I'm afraid you my be right. It has its days when it looks promising but I'm with you I am going to end up with a 40 dollar unique rock for the tank. Nina |

| so, how is your bubble doing? i hope that it made it but i am guessing the progress report wont be great. i had a small piece myself a few months back..it kept getting knocked over and one day it got knocked over, laid upside down on the ground for too long before i noticed and it just never recovered. now that you mention it...i gotta find that piece of FANCY rock...i think i tossed it in the back of the tank and forgot about it. would make a nice base to glue a piece of coral ot it, get some zoos growing all over it. steve |

| it is still hanging in there. cant say that there has been much change in the appearance since last pics. It still eats on a regular basis so I'm hopeful it will do something but it is taking its own sweet time. that would look cool with zoos on it. I will have to keep that in mind if mine ever decides to go the dead route. Last edited by mothergoose; 11-30-2007 at 01:01 PM. Reason: none |

| Chuck, This is what it looks like when it is waking up. Throughout the day the bubbles come and go. Sometimes I am really optimistic because it looks good other times I want to cry because it looks so pathetic. I think I need to take it out and rise it off because it has more red gunk on it. This makes me very nervous I will need to do some more reading on how to do this. Do you have any other ideas on how to help the little guy? Thanks, Nina ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by mothergoose; 12-02-2007 at 08:43 AM. Reason: none |

| Nina: I try to keep up with you here but missed a few days. could you rig a hose to one of your power-head or pump and blow the red stuff off. I don't think stressing it out by taking it out of the water would be a good idea. Maybe gust move it to a spot with stronger flow for a day. I had one rock with 11 xenia's on it get real serest out and I thought I was going to loose them. I move them to a spot with stronger flow and they have came back. But on the other hand my trumpet coral has really started to look good now that I moved it to a slower flow area. I guess I should read up more on bubble corals before I make any recommendations.

| Well I do believe it is finally over for the bubble. It only has hard scales on it now and there are absolutally no bubbles any more. Thanks for all your help.
