I was wondering what this coral is called i believe it is an lps. I bought it from thatpetplace.com and they claimed it was a tooth coral. thank you but it's definately not a red open brain because i have one. the fleshy red part only covers the top and the skeletal structure is about 6 to 8 inches tall. anybody other ideas?

that looks just like it but way bigger. Whats the difference between a red lobo and a red open brain. the skeletan is some much different on that than my open brains. and so is the tissue, the tissue on the (lobo i guess) has small teeth in it and doesnt change in size to much and my open brain has a small tiny skeletan and it's tissue exspands 3-4 inches between night and day. sorry if im stupid but i would love to learn something.

you are in no way stupid...the only reason i thought to look up that kind of coral is because i saw a piece at my LFS. i have only been at saltwater for a year and still dont know enough. i would guess you got a small piece of it is all, still a nice addition to the tank. if you get tired of it, i'll take it off your hands..
