Default Red Marine Algae(Gigartina)

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum and reefs and fish, but love the art. I was wanting to build my own reef and wanted to know if Red marine algae and other types can florish in high elevations. I live in Colorado and we're one mile above sea level. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Ed.
