Default caulerpa

do any of u know how good this algae is ?

i recieved a bag full of it that i threw in my sump and running a 20 watt pc light on them the same cycle as my display how good are they against chaeto to extract nitrate ?

I hear it is fine for the tank, but bad for the environment. I cannot remember where I just saw a write up on what just a teensy little bit of that means for the natural reef.

Cheato seems to be a better choice if running it in a fuge as Caulerpa can turn asexual and release toxins back into your tank. Havent had it happen to me but others have told me it is so.

I think a mod here at RB told me that 5-6 mos ago. MMMM...Brian maybe! Thats why I switched to cheato the next day!!!

Chaeto is the way to go. As Jim stated caulerpa can & does go asexual & when it does you'll have a mess on your hands.
